The Biggest Adventure
The sky is really that blue. The grass is really that green. The trail is open to any traveler who wants to explore.
It’s the trail to what used to be a man-made lake outside Kenilworth Castle. Kenilworth, a castle that is now in ruins, but once hosted royalty.
How often do we look at our life and think that it seems like it is in ruins and ponder how we once had it so good?
I wonder if there isn’t a way to turn that around and not see things in ruins, or to learn how to refinish and refurbish the rubble.
With all our exploration in Europe the last five months, we have seen plenty of castles and fortresses in ruins. But we’ve also seen and heard stories of many glorious places that were demolished, devastated, burned and buried, that have risen from the ashes to a state of glory and respect once again.
Perhaps that is the key for all of us. Will we allow ourselves, our minds, bodies or lives to remain in a state of ruin or will we rebuild? Will we restore what was lost and regain a sense of the strength and fortitude that we know is deep within each of us?
