Sun sets over the mountains to the east.

Birds perch atop the weather beaten wooden posts.

Ships break the smooth waters of the Puget Sound.

Clouds change their hue and color with each passing moment.

The world turns as I sit and watch and wonder at the beauty of creation and the journey of my life. Looking for, reading and trying to decipher the signs.

Until I remember to breathe in the moment and out the past and let it all go.

Time to surrender.

Not in defeat but in agreement, knowing I cannot carry the weight of the world nor was I designed to do so.

And breathe again in with the beauty that surrounds me and out with the wounds that have shaped me.

Again and again until the last breath is mine and the journey ends.
