Library Visits More Common Than Movie Outings

January 26, 2020 By

I am thrilled to report that in 2019, trips to the library were more common than any other cultural activity.

According to Gallup, “visiting the library remains the most common cultural activity Americans engage in, by far. The average 10.5 trips to the library U.S. adults report taking in 2019 exceeds their participation in eight other common leisure activities.”

As a bibliophile, prolific writer, published author, former junior high school teacher, and a homeschooling parent, you can imagine how much this thrills me.

In honor of the news, I thought I would share with you one of my favorite libraries (aka Bibliotek in Swedish) that we discovered on our travels to 21 countries in 2019. It is located in Helsingborg, Sweden, where two fellow authors reside.

Do the Gallup poll results surprise you? Did you visit a library in 2019? Do you have a favorite library? Let me know in the comments. I’m always looking for new libraries to visit in my travels!
