Cosmic Street Art from Prague

January 9, 2020 By

Traveling to 21 countries in 2019 changed everything… about everything.

I really began to find my stride when it comes to traveling. My preferences about what I want to see, experience and learn when I travel became more clear.

As a creative, the verdict is no surprise. I love street art, in all its forms. Whether it’s a musician or group, painter or poet, creativity draws me in. I am fascinated by the way these artists have dedicated themselves to their craft enough to take it to the streets, directly to the people. It’s a source of instant validation or rejection. That takes unbelievable courage and conviction.

One of the artists that was incredibly memorable was Kosmik Kate in Prague, Czech Republic. She is out painting most afternoons near Old Town Square. Her work is incredible, as if her method. Using regular tools like newspaper and cardboard, she creates beautiful cosmic pieces for watchers to purchase.

After watching her create two different pieces in about 30 minutes, I found out a little more about her. She studied Fine Arts in St. Louis, Missouri working with watercolors, acrylics, oil paints, and printmaking. After university, she took on body painting and face painting. I experienced her latest medium which is spray paint.

What are your favorite types of places to visit and see when you travel?
